About UsGrant County Lifeteen is in our third year of working with the youth of both St. Paul and Holy Family Catholic Church parishes. In that time we have been blessed to be a part of some amazing things. One of these amazing things is seeing the group triple in size in just 2 years.
At a past World Youth Day, The late Pope John Paul the II said this to all youth: But our program is not just about discussion and education. It’s about taking what we have learned and acting. It’s about making rosaries for Catholic soldiers in Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom. It’s about the youth taking their own money to buy presents for Tri Kappa Heart of Christmas. It’s about giving time to remodel our youth room. And It’s about raising over $400 for Crisis Pregnancy Center by providing a “Wash For Life” car wash But no one can be all about business 24/7. If you work hard, you should play hard, right? Well, in the past few years, we have also played hard. We have had trips to Ivanhoes, bonfires, superbowl parties, cookouts, Christmas parties, and bowling outings. We recently had our 3rd successful lock-in where I’m not sure who had more fun….me or the Lifeteen members. Other activities include annual trips for skiing, spending days at amusement parks, and laser tag.
We are truly blessed to have the resources available to do so much but it is only effective when it is utilized. High Schoolers…I invite all of you to participate in this program that will not only provide you with good times with a solid group of friends that you will remember forever, but will prepare you spiritually for what lies beyond high school. Parents…..I invite you to strongly encourage your high schoolers to attend these one hour meetings each week. Great dividends will be paid later from investing only one hour a week. |
